Role Description
The Biomedical Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pembroke Parish, Bermuda. This role is responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining medical equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with relevant standards. Day-to-day tasks include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, coordinating repairs, and keeping detailed service records. The Biomedical Engineer collaborates with clinical and operations staff to assess equipment needs, support product selection, and provide user training on proper operation and care. This position also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending technical upgrades, process enhancements, and best practices for medical technology management.

MUST haves
A valid visa for the US, Canada, or the UK - they will be necessary to travel to Bermuda and for enable training attendance when needed.
Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience working in the field.
- Solid foundation in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles in a healthcare environment.
- Experience working with Medical Equipment such as autoclaves, ventilators, anesthesia machines, medical gas systems, hemodialysis / peritoneal dialysis systems, dental units, X-ray machines and dental hand-pieces including installation, configuration, safety checks, and performance verification.
- Openness and willingness to receive training on equipment not previously encountered.
- Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance, with a focus on field operations, reliability, uptime, and regulatory compliance.
- Willingness and ability to work at customer locations (in the field).
- Knowledge of relevant medical device standards and regulations, and familiarity with risk management and safety protocols.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical, technical, and operations teams.
- Organized and detail-oriented approach to documentation, asset tracking, and maintenance scheduling; experience in a clinical or healthcare setting is an advantage.
