Summer Internship: Healthcare Logistics & Warehouse Operations (Not a Desk Job)
Pembroke,
Bermuda
The Mission: We keep Bermuda’s healthcare infrastructure running by supplying critical medical consumables and equipment. But before a device can save a life, it has to be procured, transported, unloaded, inspected, inventoried, delivered to client and installed. We are looking for a gritty, hard-working Logistics Intern to get in the trenches with us this summer.
Warning: This is not an air-conditioned desk internship. Between reorganizing the warehouse and tracking inventory, you will be on your feet, lifting, and working in the Bermuda summer heat.
What You Will Actually Do And Learn:
- Workplace Safety: We teach you this when you start.
- The Heavy Lifting: Step up when it counts. Help us unload shipping containers of medical equipment when they arrive (expect this 2-3 times over the summer).
- Warehouse Management: Physically reorganize and optimize our warehouse footprint to maximize space and efficiency.
- Inventory Control: Audit, label, and digitize incoming stock. You need the muscle to move the pallet and the brains to accurately log the serial numbers.
- Cold Chain & Local Routing: Ensure temperature-sensitive items travel and are stored appropriately and help route shipments from our warehouse to client locations.
Who You Are:
- You have physical strength and stamina. You can safely lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and don't mind physical labor.
- You are highly organized and detail-oriented. You respect the fact that a misplaced digit on a spreadsheet can delay a critical surgery.
- You are a student (business, supply chain, engineering, or sports/kinesiology) looking for hands-on operational experience.
- Driver license is not required, but a plus - in any case, you should be able to get to work on time.
The Details & Perks:
- Timeline: Fixed term - 10 weeks (Early June – Mid August)
- Pay: $20/hr
- Lunch on Us: A $15 daily lunch subsidy.
- Gear Allowance: A $120 subsidy to purchase your required steel-toe boots.
- Location: Pembroke, Bermuda.
- Expanded Scope & Networking: Rotate with our biomedical engineering and business development teams to learn these segments of medical supplies and equipment business. You will also have a chance to meet some of our high-profile clients.
- Meet Senior Management: Introductory meeting with the COO and introduction to teams, mid-internship review and completion meeting.
- Documentation: Upon successful completion, receive written references from direct supervisor and senior management, as well as a certificate of completion.
With your application, give us one example of a time you worked hard physically, and one example of a time you had to be highly organized.
